Cable Technician – $1,400–2,100 / per week

The core role at TreeTech. You drive your own daily route of work orders: connecting homes to internet, TV and phone service on networks operated by major national carriers. Pay is piece-rate – every completed order has a published point value, so your paycheck is math you can check, not a number someone hands you.

What you will do

  • Run and terminate coaxial drops from the tap to the home
  • Install and activate modems, routers and set-top boxes
  • Certify signal levels with a meter and document results
  • Educate the customer and leave a clean, tested installation
  • Close out work orders with photo documentation in the field app

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the US (EAD, Green Card or citizenship)
  • Driver’s license; own vehicle preferred – lease program available
  • Comfortable on ladders and in crawl spaces; able to lift 28-ft ladder
  • Basic smartphone skills for the work-order app

Can I work without fluent English?

Yes. TreeTech supervisors and mentors speak English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. You need basic phrases for customers at the door – we give you a phrase card and it comes quickly on the job.

Do I need experience to start?

No. The Installer Helper track starts with ~10 days of paid training with a mentor, and most helpers get their own route within a month. If you already have cable, fiber or electrical experience, you skip ahead after a field assessment and start at a higher rate.

What documents do I need?

Authorization to work in the US: an EAD card, Green Card or citizenship. TreeTech is an E-Verify employer. You will also need a driver’s license – if you only have a learner’s permit, talk to the recruiter about options.

How is the pay calculated?

Piece-rate: every work order type has a published point value, and your weekly check is the sum of completed points. You see the rate card before you sign, and every order is visible in the field app – so the math is always checkable.

Which states do you hire in?

Right now – 12 states: Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Alabama and Michigan. We help with relocation between our states, and the Travel Tech track works across all of them at once.

How fast is the hiring process?
