Smart Home & Security Installer – $1,400–2,100 / per week

Cameras, sensors, smart thermostats and security panels – installed and configured on the carrier’s platform, then explained to the customer in plain language. This role rewards communication: customer-satisfaction scores carry bonus pay, so techs who like talking to people earn more here than on pure construction work.

What you will do

  • Install and configure security panels, cameras and sensors
  • Set up home automation scenes and mobile apps with the customer
  • Integrate devices with the customer’s Wi-Fi and troubleshoot coverage
  • Walk customers through the system until they are confident
  • Document installations and close orders in the field app

Requirements

  • Experience in cable, alarm, or electronics installation preferred
  • Strong customer communication (any of our 5 languages + basic English)
  • Driver’s license; authorization to work in the US
  • Comfort with mobile apps and home networking basics

Can I work without fluent English?

Yes. TreeTech supervisors and mentors speak English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. You need basic phrases for customers at the door – we give you a phrase card and it comes quickly on the job.

Do I need experience to start?

No. The Installer Helper track starts with ~10 days of paid training with a mentor, and most helpers get their own route within a month. If you already have cable, fiber or electrical experience, you skip ahead after a field assessment and start at a higher rate.

What documents do I need?

Authorization to work in the US: an EAD card, Green Card or citizenship. TreeTech is an E-Verify employer. You will also need a driver’s license – if you only have a learner’s permit, talk to the recruiter about options.

How is the pay calculated?

Piece-rate: every work order type has a published point value, and your weekly check is the sum of completed points. You see the rate card before you sign, and every order is visible in the field app – so the math is always checkable.

Right now – 12 states: Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Alabama and Michigan. We help with relocation between our states, and the Travel Tech track works across all of them at once.
